Abstract: Since 2004, NTT DoCoMo, the largest mobile carrier in Japan, has been operating a proximity mobile commerce platform that offers a variety of functions including, but not limited to, card payments. This note takes a close look at the platform; believed to be the world's most comprehensive proximity mobile system.
