The Dangers of Public Wi-Fi: Fraud Implications of Sniffer-Based Attacks


Hackers are able to develop tools known as sniffers that allow them to access certain website accounts of users sharing a Wi-Fi network. This research note describes this process, identifies certain websites that are particularly vulnerable, and provides advice on how consumers can protect themselves.
