Debit Advisory Service: 2012 Outlook


2011 was an ugly year for the debit card industry. Ideally, 2012 will bring some measure of healing to a market that has been severely bruised. Yet, issuers will be called upon to dig even deeper for new growth opportunities as they protect their existing franchises from the non-traditional marauders lurking just outside their door. Making pricing and investment decisions will lead the day, and both will require some out of the box thinking from an industry that is more tightly controlled than it has been for many years.
