Technology and fraud shape Canadians’ perception of the payments industry
New report from Mercator Advisory Group 2019 North American PaymentsInsights survey series finds Canadian adults are not satisfied with their finances.
Mercator Advisory Group’s most recent consumer survey report, Technology and Fraud: Financial Unease, from the bi-annual North American PaymentsInsights series, takes an in-depth look at Canadian consumers’ current perspective on technology and fraud.
This report explores how technology and fraud impact consumers lives, in particular the way they shop and pay for things. This includes detail on not only what they do, but also how they feel about these two important consumer issues.
“This report continues our exploration of the Canadian consumer with regard to issues in the payment ecosystem. This report explores how consumers feel about technology and some of the “new ways to pay.” Further, it looks at the current incidence of fraud among consumers and some of the actions they take because of the threat of fraud,” stated the author of the report, Peter Reville, director of Primary Research Services at Mercator Advisory Group, which includes the North American PaymentsInsights series.
