Abstract:
The EFT or PIN debit networks have lost transaction volume to the global networks as new payment standards continue to be introduced.
EFT debit networks will always play a critical role in the payments industry, guaranteed by the merchant routing choice rules of Regulation II (Debit Card Interchange Fees and Routing). The question remains if they will strike out in new directions, find new uses for their networks, and flourish.
