Abstract:
The Canadian payments card market is under siege from all sides. Merchants are gearing up for a fight on two fronts - debit and credit. Interac wants to open it's doors to outsiders, and legislators have entered the ring. The future path of the market may be at stake, so small wonder that this fight is drawing a crowd, but who started it in the first place and in the end, will it help or hurt the Canadian card market?
