Mercator Advisory Group recently announced the appointment of a new director of the Emerging Technologies Advisory Service: Pradeep Moudgal, who brings to the service over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry focused on product development, product management, business development, and marketing in payments, treasury management, international banking, and commercial lending. Most recently, he completed a major consulting project for a large health care provider and assisted that firm with analyzing its current front-end payments infrastructure, recommending ways to streamline the back-end process to enhance the firm’s daily liquidity management. Prior to this assignment, he held senior executive positions at Silicon Valley Bank as the head of global cards and merchant services and at U.S. Central Credit Union as vice president of payments product development.

Pradeep is looking forward to engaging with members of the service through the new website. The service will cover a host of issues in keeping up with the dynamic marketplace impacting consumers, small and medium-size enterprises, and corporate users as well as the key players in the payments ecosystem – card networks, payment processors, merchant providers (e-commerce, m-commerce, and t-commerce), mobile payments, data analytics, loyalty and all of the newest technology focused on enhancing the payments and data management experience for all users.

Pradeep says: “My focus for the rest of 2013 and into early 2014 will be to complete Viewpoints, Research Notes, and Research Reports on various subjects of interest and value to our members, including the new ibeacon technology from PayPal and Apple, technology developments in authentication from an online and mobile commerce perspective, a report on mobile acquiring from transactions to CRM to lead generation, and mobile implications for transit and health care payments.

“As we begin planning our Emerging Technologies Advisory Service research agenda for 2014, I would be very interested in learning more from each of you as to the key areas of interest in emerging payments and technology that your organization will be focused on in 2014. I look forward to working with each of you in the coming year in both a research and an advisory capacity.”  Pradeep can be reached at or by phone at 781-419-1716781-419-1716.
