Mercator Advisory Group and Partners Seek Survey Participants in New Commercial Card End-User Research Project

Survey of commercial cardholders will yield an industry roadmap for creating a richer, mobile-based commercial cardholder experience – Whitepaper to be made publically available

Boston, MA -- Commercial Payments International (CPI), TSYS, and Mercator Advisory Group are joining forces to conduct a study that will provide valuable insight into the experiences and needs of individuals who use corporate cards for T&E and/or purchasing. 

Mercator Advisory Group is managing the anonymous, web-hosted survey, which includes questions about travel and purchasing experiences, as well as the use of mobile devices when employees are on the go. Research findings will be made publicly available through all three sponsoring organizations late this year.

Both corporations and card service providers will benefit from a better understanding of the opportunities to support travelers and cardholders, and to optimize the use of mobile devices as a commercial card service delivery channel.

Keith D. Pierce, Group Executive for TSYS Commercial Services, says this survey based research effort will fill a void that exists regarding the cardholder experience with today’s commercial cards.   “This survey will gather data from the employee perspective, recognizing their growing use of mobile devices. TSYS, Mercator and CPI will mine the survey data to help identify needs and opportunities that will benefit corporate travelers, mobile employees and the corporations themselves,” states Pierce.

Patricia McGinnis, director of research for Mercator Advisory Group’s Commercial and Enterprise Payments Service, will lead Mercator’s data analysis efforts and support TSYS in their preparation of a white paper to report results. During the fourth quarter of this year, Mercator and TSYS will make publicly available a slide deck and whitepaper summarizing the findings from the study.  Commercial card issuers that invite their own commercial card customers will receive a customized segmentation of the data contributed by their customers.  Interested issuers should contact McGinnis as soon as possible.
