Brian O'Keeffe is a Director in Mercator Advisory Group's Credit Advisory Service. In this role he advises members throughout the year on business strategy and applied technology related initiatives. He is a frequent industry speaker appearing at the 2003 & 2004 Credit Cards Online Annual Conference as well as at other leading industry events. His work has been cited in leading industry publications including: Credit Card Management, Card Technology News, ATM & Debit News, Bank Technology News, and American Banker.
Brian has spent the last eight years serving the financial services industry working with Fidelity Investments, Fiducite and most recently with the Livermore Research Group. While with Livermore, a research firm dedicated to the payments industry, Brian served as the company?s Director of Research with responsibilities for the development and publication of more than 25 industry-leading research papers. In addition, he maintained management responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the firm. His practice included work performed for leading payments industry firms such as American Express, JP Morgan Chase Manhattan, MasterCard, HSBC, Discover Financial Services, MBNA, Wells Fargo, and CitiGroup.
Brian received his BA in Economics from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from the FW Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College in Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Barbara Flaherty is a Senior Analyst in Mercator Advisory Group's Debit Advisory Service. Barbara has over 15 years of direct strategic planning and market research experience including life cycle planning, development of product strategies and assessment of market requirements designed to achieve profitability objectives. She has performed extensive competitive analysis of traditional and e-commerce markets in the financial and professional services arena.
In her role as Director of Research and Business Intelligence for a number of large corporate organizations, including Egon Zehnder International, Lucent Technologies, Northrop Grumman as well as smaller, more entrepreneurial businesses as Zentropy Partners, Barbara has been responsible for providing comprehensive data analyses and market support to internal and outside customers. This enabled organization executives to determine best practices in market segments, develop cross selling strategies in financial services, retail and technology markets, and build intuitive business intelligence models to sustain growth and revenue increase.
She holds a B.A. from the University of Rhode Island, received her Masters Degree from SUNY/Buffalo and did post graduate work at Johns Hopkins University School of Professional Studies in Business and Education.
Michael Friedman is a Senior Analyst in Mercator Advisory Group's Emerging Technologies Advisory Service. Mike has spent the last eight years in strategic consulting and research related services. His prior consulting background includes work at both Integral, Inc. and Mainspring, Inc.
Recently he has worked as a research analyst for Livermore Research Group, where he was responsible for authoring and editing research documents analyzing the best practices in customer self-service for the payments industry. His work was used by leading firms such as: Discover, Wells Fargo, Capital One, MBNA, American Express and others.
Mike holds a Masters of Science in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Rochester and a BA in Economics.
