Brien Henderson, Payments Industry Veteran, Joins Mercator Advisory Group

Mercator Advisory Group adds industry veteran as Vice President and Managing Director of Sales


Mercator Advisory Group, the leading independent research and advisory services firm exclusively focused on the payments industry today announces the appointment of Brien Henderson to the firm’s senior management team as Vice President and Managing Director of Sales. An accomplished senior executive and veteran of the financial services industry, Brien brings more than three decades of expertise to his sales leadership role. Brien has vast experience analyzing, marketing, managing, and selling sophisticated industry research and consulting services as well as retail banking software in both international and U.S. markets.

Prior to joining Mercator, Brien was the chief marketing officer for KIVA Group, a global provider of unified customer interaction and experience management. Prior to KIVA, Brien was partner and managing director of sales and marketing for TABB Group, a New York City-based financial services advisory firm. Previously, Brien served for more than five years as group vice president for all of IDC Research’s industry-specific worldwide sales efforts after a successful five-year tenure as vice president of IDC’s Financial Insights division. Before that time, Brien was a member of the senior management team and head of sales and marketing at TowerGroup (now ultimately acquired by Gartner). He joined TowerGroup in 1995 and helped to orchestrate its original sale at the end of 1999.

Brien’s professional background includes sales management positions at Skillsoft Corporation and the NSS Corporation.

Brien earned an A.B. from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME and an M.A. from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
