2015 Payments Fintech Funding: Year in Review

Globally, 354 payments fintech companies attracted a total of $7.9 billion in investment financing in 2015.

According to Mercator Advisory Group’s analysis, capital invested in financial technology (fintech) companies specializing in payments and banking-related products or services was broadly distributed in 2015, but with notable concentration in peer-to-peer lending (marketplace lending) platforms and other models of alternative lending as well as merchant services and applications utilizing digital currencies.
